Ascent Novel Prize is an international competition open to all writers who have not traditionally published a book or have an agent.
Every entrant receives free access to a membership area which includes videos and training on the craft of writing.
Ascent Novel Prize is open for entries from 1st June to 1st November.
Ascent Children's Book Prize is open for entries from February to 1st July.
Our winners receive £1,000 and feedback from industry professionals.

Ascent Novel Prize
We know how difficult submitting your work for the first time can be, but Ascent Novel Prize is a writing competition with a difference. We pride ourselves on offering as many opportunities to our entrants as we can.
Writers from under-represented areas of the industry are assessed for our highly commended awards. Our top 100 are guaranteed a paragraph of personalised feedback, and all entrants receive access to a free membership area. An entry to Ascent Novel Prize makes you part of our community. We can't wait to join you on your writing journey.
A number of sponsored places are available for whom the cost of entering is a barrier. These places are sponsored by independent bookshop, Messrs Fletcher and Frost.
